Read below to find out why she decided to focus on helping women to navigate the challenges of perimenopause & optimize their health through therapeutic lifestyle methods that can prevent, treat and even reverse health conditions.
It All Started When...
While trying to conceive and going through the IVF process, I was told I was essentially menopausal for several months after coming off of birth control. My estrogen, progesterone and testosterone were all extremely low, my hair was thinning, I was gaining weight especially around my abdomen (despite eating healthy and exercising), I was feeling depressed and irritable, not sleeping well - I felt like a totally different person. This was also while working as a PA and RD, and too often I was seeing women's lifestyle behaviors, borderline lab results, poor eating and sleeping habits, high levels of stress and anxiety, all being overlooked, ultimately leading to progression of a chronic disease. Too often women were reporting difficulty losing weight, mood changes and poor sleep, only to be dismissed and told the hormonal process was out of their control.
It was during this time in my life, I realized there is a MASSIVE gap in Women's Healthcare. Where is the awareness and targeted research on women during these hormonal seasons of life? Why isn't anyone talking about it or looking into how to address and improve these symptoms?
As women, we often prioritize other things - our spouses, kids, careers - and neglect our own health. I experienced this first hand when I became a Mom, and everyone suffered because of it. The seasons of life look different for every woman, and we all have different stressors, but one constant should be the investment in our own physical and mental health, because that is something never worth compromising or losing.
Aside from lifestyle factors, as women our hormones change throughout life and influence our metabolism, weight distribution, mood & sleep. With our current healthcare system, it's impossible to address the essential pillars of health, obtain and review individualized labs, educate, provide support and design a personalized, realistic plan to achieve sustainable meaningful results in a 15 minute visit.
We invest so much of our time and energy into other areas of our life, overlooking what matters most. You deserve the support to live the healthiest and happiest life!
I'm here to help!
Using my background in medicine and nutrition, I developed certain evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle therapies designed to help you navigate perimenopause & create the healthiest & happiest version of you in just 3 months
Now I'm able To Help Other Women...
I became very passionate about women's health and am on a mission to help others navigate such a challenging time. Until recently, the knowledge and research on perimenopause/menopause was lacking and a lot of diet and exercise studies were on men. We now know that as our hormones shift, so do our needs. As we age, regardless if we're on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) or medications like SSRIs to help with symptoms, these therapies aren't as effective without addressing diet, exercise, sleep and mindset.
